I have a Dell U3014 and been looking at the 21:9 34" displays.

There is a Dell U3415 which seems to have good specs and I've always been happy with Dell's (I've had a 24, 27 and now 30)

The g-sync monitors seems to be 300-400 more. e.g Asus PG348Q and acer x34a
Would I really notice the difference? As far as i know i think they use the same panel anyway?

Use as a secondary screen for a work laptop (work from home) and occasional gaming (not as much as I used to!)

It seems to work better in some( A couple of ) games and no difference at all in other games , Since I've beeing using G-Sync BF4 runs lovely , but American truck simulator runs aweful ( Didnt before ) , Euro truck runs lovely too , but in The Division I notice no difference at all , its the same with Doom , Project Cars and one or two others .

No game I play seems to run at 144Hz using G-Sync no matter what in game settings are on or off...well apart from ETS

Not had a chance to fully explore it on my new X34a monitor, though certainly working well in Arkham Knight on the few occasions the frame rate dropped with heavy Physx effects (in that, I could see the steam overlap fps counter drop, but didn't feel or see any difference on screen)

However if you only do a bit of gaming its probably not essential so long as you have a fairly powerful GPU.

IMO GSYNC is great, but it only operates between certain frame rates.

If you're easily getting 144fps in game, you'll not notice much difference except the lack of screen tearing. If the frame rate is fluctuating between 144 and down to about 40 fps, it will smooth the frame drops out and give you the perception of a more consistent frame rate. If your frame rate drops below that it won't really help.

It's worth it. Not having to worry about tearing or vsync lag is a big plus. Lower frame rates also appear better. No a load better - 40-50 fps with gsync/freesync is still noticeably less good than 60+, but it feels better than without the tech! A definite bump in quality.

Well with whats been released recently I've read many times that my 980ti has had it, old technology, not worth it, cant cope with games, you name it so gsync will help crop up the old soldier. :)

Yes especially if your getting a 34" monitor as most cards can't run games maxed without keeping the framerate at 100fps.

I run 1 980ti currently and you can tell when it's on and off.
