G-sync vs high refresh rate

I don't use v-sync and any g-sync, I want a 27-28" ips monitor but its very hard to find a g-sync 27 ips in my budget, I am currently using a 60hz laptop screen and never had a problem,

can anyone help, I need to order tomorrow and don't know if to get a 1440p g-sync or 1440p non g-sync 144hz, or get get a 4k 60hz g-sync

If you can afford 1440p G-Sync i.e. the Dell (IMO don't touch the Asus) then do it I doubt you will regret it. 4K is try before you buy IMO some people don't get on with the higher resolution as well as others.

If you don't mind a little tearing/rippling and can manage high framerates then a non G-Sync 144Hz panel isn't terrible but for most people once you experience adaptive sync type tech its hard to go back.

for 27" 1440p is a good resolution (and pixels per inch) however you have pro/con of IPS like I said. I want a new monitor, I'd like to get a IPS for better video colour reproduction (I like the colours on the two android IPS phone/tablets I have, they are superior to the TN 24" monitor I have) but worry about IPS glow, poor blacks etc are a major concern.

IPS may have superior colours, but if the black levels are crap imagine playing fear or alien isolation and it's all washed out, with IPS glow meaning corners are very bright...

well that is a tough one. G-Sync is going to cost you. I don't have freesync/gsync so can't say whether it's worth it (only have a ATI 480, not a freesync monitor yet)

If you don't have a GPU yet, and want to save money you could go ATI, as freesync monitors are considerbly cheaper than Nvidia gsync counterpart

I believe if you go non gsync monitor then you want a high refresh screen. For example if you use a 144hz freesync monitor on a Nvidia GPU. The syncing won't work, but 144hz for desktop and gaming will, so you won't get vsync tearing and I doubt you'll get >144fps in a game anyway (just max out all settings and it won't be outputting fps higher than 144hz) at least I think so haven't read too deeply about it.
