Hey guys, my logitech G15 keyboard has sort of broken, I say sort of because it still works, all the LEDs come on, when I press a button though, instead of just giving me say A is will give me ASHF, it's like the keys have been binded together, I can think of only 1 explanation for this, that being there have been on different occasions a few litres of coke/pepsi/water, spilled into this thing (in fact im amazed its lasted as long as it has), anyway is there anything I can do to fix this, such as cleaning the PCB, if so how should I go about it.

I really don't want to spend another 50 quid on a keyboard if I can help it, but yeah all the LEDs come on, all the keys respond, just not in the way they should.

Any suggestions or am I shagged?

No as in theres nothing I can do, or no as in it's not broken.

and yeah I know its careless, but I'm just clumsy, not like I do it on purpose.

Well thats kinda what I was asking, should I just use a toothbrush and water? or is there some kind of other liquid I should use?

I'm willing to try anything before resorting to buying a new one tbh.

How long have you had it ?
the original had a 2year guarantee and Logitech have been nothing short of amazing with my RMAs.

Be VERY carefull when opening up the keyboard!
I managed to get mine working again by opening it up and cleaning it BUT I tore the ribbon cable from the screen to the keyboard :(

I would suggest that the first thing you should do is to call Logitech Customer Support, see what they can do for you.

If it's a no from them, then try and clean it yourself.

I'd try this.

Have dumped a drink into a G15 before, it was out of warranty so opened it up and tried to clean the membrane pcb thingy, it was badly stained (just imagine what coke does to your guts) put it back together again and it never worked at all ever again, worth a try if an RMA option is unavailable, I hear that Logitech had very limited stocks of the blue led G15 left for warranty replacement, and that was last year. they might offer you a orange G15 v2 if they do offer to replace it ... I'd not mention the drink accident though.

If you insist on having a drink beside the keyboard, get a glass with a wide base that is not so easily tipped over.

I'm buying the G19 when it comes out and pray I dont dump a drink into it :)

Oh well, can't RMA it, for one i've had it open before and 2 I can't find any proof I bought it so, I guess ill try cleaning it.

Thanks for the help guys.

I just did te same ting n my eybard. n tis is nt an attempt at umur (laug). Micrst ergnmic.

tis Hopeless (cut and pasted tat Ho)

Is te G15 wrt it?

put ur g15 on your raditor some how works on mobiles and ipods you just need to dry it out hairdryer might work to

Haha, yeah, I should know. Put my jeans through the wash with my phone, touch and £280 in the pockets. Luckily I remembered before it finished and managed to salvage everything. It all still works fine after a night of having money strewn all over the radiators.
