Ive got a strange problem, ive never used the setpoint software that came with the mouse ive always just used windows settings, anyway every time i switched my pc on the mouse would set its default speed as 2000dpi, thats the top light on the mouse and this was perfect for me

anyways the other day my 9 month old daughter decided to try and EAT the mouse and started pressing all the buttons :D

since then my mouse now defaults on the middle light (800dpi ?) when i turn the pc on, i know its only a press of a small button to higher the setting but its actually quite annoying, is there a way to get the mouse to default on the top setting again ? ive just installed setpoint but its still defaulting at 800

I have had 2 g5's (best rodent i have everused) like you never installed the disk and as far as i am aware both have allways defaulted to the middle setting
 
Both of mine default to the middle setting (On xp32bit vista 32bit vista 64bit, all using MS drivers not Logitech)
 
Same here, windows software doesn't remember. When i set up game setting in the logitech software it remembers the previous setting after a restart. Plus you can program in 5 settings rather than the normal three (usually have mine at 400-800-1200-1600-2000).
 
I had this trouble. It randomly defaulted to the top one and I could never work out why, but getting up to date drivers fixed it.
 
Only had the mouse a month and a big update patch was downloaded yesterday, I have set up various buttons for various applications,I didnt/ dont have any issues before or after updating!

On a side, i tried my other microsoft mouse the other day and i was amazed how slow a mouse i had used for 4 years actually was :)
 
Defaults to middle setting on mine in Win 7. Never used setpoint or any mouse software before.
 
well i seem to have kinda sorted it out now, its still defaulting to the middle setting but ive turned the sensitivity right up in set point so theres no real difference now

weird tho how mine always defaulted to the top setting and had done for about 12 months since i bought it
 
indeed it is weird, my g5 rev 1 defaulted to middle in xp 32 using set point drivers, my g5 rev 2 defaulted to middle in xp32 adn vista 64 using windows drivers, and my work g5 rev2 defaults to middle in xp 32 using windows drivers.
