Basically mouse sensitivity is how accurate the mouse is physically - its resolution effectively (how minute a change is required for it to determine one unit of movement) and is measured in dots per inch.p4radox said:So I take it polling rate is not the same as sensitivity?
I might give it a go, thanks for the info bobert50.

That makes sense yeah, cheers. It's pretty much as I understood it.ps3ud0 said:Basically mouse sensitivity is how accurate the mouse is physically - its resolution effectively (how minute a change is required for it to determine one unit of movement) and is measured in dots per inch.
Mouse polling though is how often these changes (relative or absolute) are sent to the PC for it to represent the physically movement of the mouse. Its measured in hz (cycles per second) and generally higher is better until a point where the CPU overhead just mitigates the benefit (a form of mouse lag so to speak)
In reality overall mouse sensitivity is a function of both of these (i.e. it doesnt matter how accurate your mouse is if your PC doesnt ask enough times what is happening)...
Hope that makes sense
