When will this be out? my friend told me that its between 7300 and 7800 and should get around 6000 points on 3dmark05. is what hes telling me correct? or is he jsut trying to be smart?

Id saw more like 3500-5500 3dmarks which is a ballpark, but its gunna be the new 6600GT so dont expect it to be that good. pretty good value, probably a bit less power than a 6800GS ida thought, very similar actually.
from what i know, its a 12 or 8 pipe card, 12 for GT 8 for GS (or something like that), a limiting number of TMUs/ROPs but pretty good i expect.

7600GT gets 5500 3DM05 with a A64 3000+

However, i think the GT version is $249 which puts it in the same price range as the 65800GS, with similiar 3DM05 performance.
It will probably be quite a bit slower in AA if it has 128bit memory interface.

Well, the 7600GS looks like a 6600GT replacement and 7600GT like a 6800GS replacement but they should cost less to manufacture. So, i reckon they will be slightly less than those GPUs they are replacing.

so should i wait for this rather getting either the 6800xt or x1600xt now?
The 7600 cards will likely be released end of March / early April & will probably cost a bit more than the X1600XT (or 6800XT). If you want to wait you can, but theres always a better card coming. If it was me, id buy now (when i want to game). And then be happy that i made a purchase.
