G92 scores 10k in 3DMark06

All i see there is a graph with the number of transistors card.

Nothing to do with 3DMark 06.

i thought the g92 was highend, then what is the highend card coming out early next year?

its midrange thats meant to compete with 8800gts i think, dont know why they want to compete with it but as long as it costs less i wont be bothered. probably cost as much as an ultra though

Surely they have to bring a card out thats faster?

That would be business suicide

Why would It, this card is going to be around as fast as the GTX give or take a few and cheaper no doubt. Then the high end comes out shortly after and decimates everything before It. Hardly suicide the card will sell well regardless.

Dont forget G92 will support DX10.1 and PCI-E 2.0 amongst other things so it will be better than an 8800 GTS

Is it?

Wonder how much it will be and how much faster than the 8800 GTS now?

Tonight I bought a 640 GTS for 206 quid and will clock it and get similar results in games as the GTX I bought last november.

Who says it will be as fast as the GTX?

I would have thought it would have to be faster in order for people to upgrade their current 8800 GTS's

Having said that though the GTS i just bought is a stop gap card

Yeah but that's more or less pointless, we don't even have proper Dx10 games yet really. :D

I doubt it'll be till this time next year we have a proper game making use of Dx10.1.

Interesting however, so I guess this G92 is going to sit between the 8800GTS/GTX? Like the 2900XT is then I guess.

PCI-e 2.0 is a gimmick imo (with single cards)

will certainly off no advantages with a single card solution over PCI-e 16x

DX 10.1 more gimmicks

I know I'll get a 10.1 card to play no games that are 10.1 :p

This is just nonsense. Pure speculation on performance and what the end result will be.

Will be a revision of the current series or a new high end based technology. Unfortunately there are no answers just yet.

Lets wait and see until we get the specification directly from Nvidia. Its not like they have let us down so far with there current cards over the last few years.

More than likely it will be a revision of the 8800 series since the release dates are so near each other. Probably along the lines of the x1950 series of ATI cards with the first release being 20% faster than the current top end offering with higher clocks, efficientcy and better all round performance.

Althought i may well be talking nonsense and be completely wrong although im dure im not fsr off.

this is good for us (ultra users) because by the time crysis hit the streets ultra´s will still be the "big daddys" of graphic cards :D:p
