Hi all,

Last couple of days my pc has crashed and needed restarting. When I restart it, it reboots 3 times to reset the bios and then wont post. Now if I leave it for and hour or so then go back to it, it works fine until it crashes again. So it did it to me again this morning and i have just tryed putting one stick of memory in it and it boots. As soon as I put 2 or more in it won’t post. I’ve checked all the sticks and they are all fine

Can anyone help me?

PS Its a rev 1.1 board if that helps

No they are in the DDR2 slots :p Its a Enermax 530W PSU

Just had it telling me there was a BOOTMGR error with all 4 sticks init. Left it for 10 mins and now its working again

Have you tried putting your RAM in the yellow slots, and if that doesnt work try the red ones, have you done this?

Yea tryed loads of differant combinations with 2 or more rams but with 1 stick in anywere it works fine. Strange thing is now ive left it for a while its working perfect with all 4 in

Is it worth holding out till they release a new bios to see if they fix it or RMA it?

If its working now and its stable I would wait to see if they fix it with the BIOS update, but I doubt they will as its a fault on the motherboard, and your not getting the standard that your paid for, your getting a sub standard motherboard which is just not right...

Its just totaly ramdom crashes. It did it last night while playing games, but came straight back on. The other night I was just downloading my steam games crashed and wouldnt turn on and last night running memtest, rebooted and wouldnt turn on again. Like i say though if i leave it for 30mins to and hour and just turn it back on it works fine untill another random crash

Check the heat sink is still correctly fitted to your CPU, and not clogged with dirt.

But, tbh, does sound like a mobo fault.

Im having problems with my GA-P35C-DS3R.
It fails prime95 at stock settings, random crashes, games failing - Ive tried loads of different things to resolve this issue.
Including:-
changing mem voltage
changing mem timing
upgrading bios
turning all fans on full whack / case open (temps are not an issue)

My latest test is to use 1 stick of memory - that seemed to prime overnight........ I wonder if these boards have dodgy memory controllers on them????????

Starge thing is that mine passed 10 hours of Orthos with CPU at 3.1Ghz and Mem at 4-4-4-12 840Mhz no problems

Thats fine but like the guy above said if its not addressing a certian part of memory it might not crash... I'm taking it your using 4GB of RAM? maybe its a certian memory slot thats doing it? or a wrong calculation at a certian time... but definately think its your RAM

I got 8 passes last night overclocked @ 4-4-4-12 840Mhz on my Ballistix 5300's and got loads of error after that so im testing is on stock all day now to see what it gives.

So you think it could be more likly the RAM than the board?

No still think its the board... have you tried running MemTest on your RAM? Normally 9 out of 10 times its the board thats the problem, more to go wrong with it over RAM... I would bet board... where abouts in Liverpool are you mate?
