Hey,
I recently got a gaming system from overclockers, with an overclocked i7 920 and a GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard. However, I have a WD Essential Passport external hard drive which works fine on my HP laptop (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit), but cannot be recognised on my new desktop (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit).
This is really annoying me, can anyone think why this could be? ive tried all 8 USB ports on the back, and the two case ports.
I can't get the exact error message as it just ignores the drive when i plug it in now and gives the sound of connecting, followed by the disconnection sound very quickly. the error message was along the lines of, driver unidentified, device not recognised.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
