GA-X99P-SLI, 5820k problem?

I have just purchased a GA-X99P-SLI/5820k/16gb corsair vengance 16gb quad channel DDR4 PC4-24000C15 3000MHz.

The motherboard has issues of usb devices causing the board to hang on the splash `Gigabyte` screen, unless i take the usb devices out first, then it boots ok.

now if i try and oc the cpu and ram im getting errors even though i used realbench to test stability which it seemed to pass.
So i thought go back to stock clocks and start over, which i have done. Now if i put the ram up to the 3000mhz using the 30x setting not the xmp profile (so not to oc the cpu at the same time) and put the ram voltage at 1.350 volts as the ram states, the system wont boot and i get a series of continuous short beeps until the system restarts.

Now i know technically the ram on the board would be classed as ocd but if its rated at 3000mhz should it not be ok?
I get blue screens of death on windows 10 with memory related errors.

So my question is where do i go from here? even setting the ram to 2400 i got an error while shutting the pc off.

Any help appreciated pics of bios showing basic settings i can use to replicate the beeps error and non boot of pc.

ok just had a crash while typing this out with everything at stock even the ram, had a memory_management error.

Think this may be the answer to most the problems, at stock settings -

so my motherboard has usb issues and the ram is faulty @justanormaldayforme

Well that's a bit pants.

Best get the ram replaced (rma?) and hope working a working kit clears up the usb boot issue.

I have had both a asus x99 deluxe and a gigabyte x99-ud5 wifi with a 5820k.

I have used a total of three different ram setups, and using all I have had similar boot issues seemingly related to usb, specifically which ports i have used (and not used).

I think it might be related to my cpu, because that is the one part i have not swapped out yet. It also behaves really funky, I run it at just over 4.1ghz now with 125 strap and 1.27-ish volts vcore, I usually always get a "overclocking failure" when cold booting, but if i enter bios and just press "save and exit", the computer boots and the overclocking works just fine.

Got RMA this morning from Ocuk all posted and on its way back.

Yeah replaced a faulty system with more faulty parts lol

EDIT : I have read of lots of usb issues with the x99 platform unfortunately. Didnt know this before purchase.

Really not had any problems at all with mine in sig.

ok the new ram doesnt seem to be faulty as such, wont boot at 3000mhz for some reason even with 1.350 volts.
It turned out the motherboard was faulty too and so i changed it for an Asus X99 Pro 3.1 not tries ocing it yet but took a while to pick up all 4 ram sticks, seems the cpu seating needed re doing and it fixed the issue.
Now to go and get used to the new bios layout as ive only ever had Gigabyte boards before.

Had no USB issues with my rig either, gigabyte board x99. Running the ram at 3000mhz is overclocking it, make sure the settings are correct in the bios, even if its 3000mhz ram, running it at those speeds is overclocking on x99.

Asus X99 Pro 3.1 does not suffer with the same problems as the gigabyte in terms of usb devices being plugged in and booting through the splash screen.
My X55 device remains plugged in and causes no issues to the Asus board. However the ED Tracker Pro device left plugged in causes the same hang on the splash screen, not too bad as i plug that in on the top of my Primo case any ways.

Overclocked the 5820K to 4.4ghz with 1.275 voltage core, not tried to go higher ghz or lower volts yet as all is stable and no issues so far.

Not sure pushing the cpu any further is worth it in terms of potential voltage requirements vs extra speed.

Edit : only running 2800mhz on the ram they still dont seem to like the 3000mhz rated speed, but im happy with it.
