I would definitely forget Gigabyte for Z68. They really have dropped the ball on this socket. No Gen3, no EUFI bios, no LLC and offset at the same time. I recommend either look at either the Asus or Asrock offerings. I've now had all three Z68 boards from Asus, Asrock and Gigabyte and even though they have a UK RMA Gigabyte is the last I would recommend. Even though the board I had came with 20 Phases it put way more heat into the CPU. I had lowest temps and better overclocks with lower voltages from the Asus.

I really need a black motherboard.. which limits me to asrock/gigabyte... and asrock has a MASSIVE heatsink right where my radaitor fans overhang a bit

Well I have the UD4 and its a lovely stable board, haven't had no probs with it so far. So what if it hasn't got UEFI bios and yes it has got pcie 3.0 enabled now.

The only way you can get a PCI 3.0 board is if you have a friend in the far east that will send you one. ;)

I used to think so what about UEFI bios and had a preference for the good old blue bios but after using UEFI for a while it has grown on me and makes things so much easier. The other factor which is more than just preference is if you wish to use GPT instead of MBR when installing an OS on a SSD, you can only do this with UEFI motherboard.

I don't think they will be that much difference PCI 2.0 & 3.0, and how much time do you spend in the bios? If you are just looking to run at stock or a moderate overclock all decent boards should operate about same. Though if I am spending my hard earned cash I know who I am giving it to.
