Location
Krispy Kreme drive thru
37 in a 30.
on the Portway in bristol, by a scamera van (rather than the well known gatso on that stretch).
worst thing, it was on a sunday and the road was dead :/

been offered some driver speed thing and £60 fine, anyone know what these things are like, its about 3 hours long i think. that or 3 points and the fine!

I'd take the course. Beats having 3 points on your license.

Just look vaguely interested for 3 hours while they show you videos of why "speed kills". Can't be that hard. :p

basically a video and a chat, take it. Usually have to pay for the course though, still well worth it. But then anything's better than points.

unlucky mate... id take the course..

ive just got back from a trip upto scotland... im actually alittle scared i might have missed a camera somewhere up there (sssooo many)

theres a problem in taking the course, it will be in bristol some time in the next 3 months.

im going to be moving to surrey/sussex in 2 weeks.

:/

might have to tag it onto a visit to see family etc

i dont think it would be unreasonable to do the course somewhere near your new location, although if the police around there dont offer the course you couldnt

yeah, deffo want to do the course, will ring them tomorrow to let them know of the change of location, see whats available.

I always thought the Portway was 50mph?

On the open dual lane part it's quite safe to do 60-70mph imo.

theres a few dual lane roads around here that have dropped from 50 limits to 30.... simply so the police can cash in..... (3 cameras installed on a 1mile stretch of road.....)

gits :/

tesla, there is a 30mph section where the park and ride is, it then opens up to 40, then 50 (where you mention). damn van was facing away from me as well, i remember it :/
thought i was in the 40!

My grandad did that test today for doing something just like 37 in a 30 zone. Not sure how he did yet, but I dont think he would have passed. He seems to change gear increadbly quickly and only use about 1/3 of each. Will find out tomorrow anyway :p

Where are these camera's?

I don't see very many on the roads up here :o

Have you seen the episode of The Simpsons when Homer has to watch the videos? its a bit like that...lol jk

You are lucky to get the course as an option, mostly its points and a fine

Not much cameras around this part of scotland. There is a lot in Edinburgh and on the way to Ayr on the west coast, the A77/M77 which was the most dangerous road or something. Its not smooooooooooth dual carriageway with nice straights with average speed cameras :o

Could always send them a PACE reply as advised to everyone on pepipoo, seems to work IME. Ive a couple of oustanding tickets, one of which has now expired, and the other of which i havent heard in anything from in over 2 months after the second NIP reminder.

They dont seem to bother with the extra paperwork needed. Although with the offer of that course, i'd probably just do that as its never been about the money, its about avoiding the points.
