Gainward 260GTX overclock

modded fan profile is always best.

there is a 2nd gpu temp sensor showing up in gpuz and 2 pcb temps, any idea on that the 2nd gpu temp sensor is reading? i got a feeling its giving the temps on the voltage regulation modules but im not sure.

good stuff. what sort of temps do you guys get??

without my modded fan profile i was getting around 83c max load.

one thing iv noticed about this card is that case cooling is very important. if i remove my front fan intake dust filter while the card is stressing i can see the temps drop and the noise drop considerably too.

may fiddle around with some ducting to the card later on too.

using furmark it maxes out at aroung 84, that was last weekend so pretty hot day, I can live with that. Yes case cooling makes a big difference I think, I have wanted to change my antec 900 for ages, but it really does give good cooling. Two at the front and two at the top/back, it makes sense to me and I wont splash out for antec 1200.
I was looking at the haf932 cooling performance, very impressed.

Not sure on that - mine has GPU Temp, PCB Temp then another GPU temp which is 8C lower than the first one, then 4 entries for the voltage regulators.

Canny how you get a free copy of vantage, better than mirrors edge imo.

Yeah, I don't know why I put a  on the end. should have been :p;)

I like Mirrors Edge but I know what you're saying, I'd never pay for a benchmarking tool.

Haha, thought it was a bit cheeky!

:D

I'd never pay for a BMT either, and glad i got one free. Played the demo of ME on the 360, and really took a dislike to it. I picked on ME since that seems to be the Download copy people are getting with games these days.

The other popular games Battle Forge & HAWK again really don't excite and considering i wasn't even expecting anything but the card i was quite happy getting Vantage.

Cranked it up to high, though it was a bit slow the two test, especially the 2nd GFX test are stunning, would love to see it all maxed out running at 40fps min.

I currently have Gainward's XpertTool installed on my system as I couldn't get RivaTuner to run smoothly with the 185.85 Forceware drivers. RivaTuner is better as you are limited with how far you can raise the core, shader, and memroy clocks under XpertTool. My advise would be to use XpertTool only if you have issues with Rivatuner. I will definately be going back to Rivatuner once a newer version has been released that is more compatible with the drivers I use.

Under the Power User tab:

RivaTuner \ System

Set the "ForceDriverVersion" option to 18585

This will allow you to use Rivatuner as normal with the 185.85 drivers.
