Tell your mate to go back in there, take some benchmarks, and call the mans bluff, show him the articles, and that he's fobbing off loadsa people, and if he refuses to do you a machine for 2/3rds of the price with a decent spec (decent here, not what he calls decent) that you'll make it known throughout the community how badly hes fobbing people off.

That is a depressing tail.
I am tempted now though to get a Gainward Goes like Hell and overclock it till it bleeds.
If i can get it to bench quicker than a 7800gtx at stock I get to sleep with Kiera Knightly right? (Perhaps i misuderstood......(perhaps i wanted to misunderstand)).
