Gainward gtx 680 a bit of a let down

I don't see how the 2gb vram is an issue in the bench posted.

The 590 has only 1.5gb per gpu and beat the 7970.

Yea we know 4gb 680 would be better, but clearly a bigger factor in the performance achieved is gpu grunt.

If you were planning to play arma you'd be better off picking up 7970s going by that info anyway. Amd cards seem to outperform nvidia across the board.

Well installed and tried the 300.83 drivers I read didn't suffer with the stuttering problem and although they were better it just wasn't as smooth as it should be. I can only guess that this is a vsync driver problem from nvidia that needs addressing. Anyway I've put my 7970 back in now, tried a few games and the difference is like night and day.

Anyone want to buy a gtx 680? The fastest most powerful single gpu card there is :D

Could some of this be down to drivers? The 7970 has been out for longer so drivers are more mature than the 680's at the moment.

Then again the 7970 is a great card! I very nearly moved from my 680 to a 7950 but stayed in the end.

If you want rid of the GTX 680 then return it using the DSR for a full refund if you're within the time limit.

If you bought from OcUK then you can use the 14 day satisfaction guarantee.

I wish I could but I don't have enough posts :(

Now I am having trouble with my 7970 and it showing a blank display when first booting up. If I turn my monitor off and on again it shows. I'm wondering if it is a problem with the card.

Your 7970 is in a huff because it can sense you tried to replace it with a 680
