Galactic Civilizations II

Can't have a GC 2 thread without someone posting these two blogs:

PC Gamer playing through the game and its expansions, and making a dman awesome blog which shows how great the game is.

I haven't seen the second one. I love the way he writes about the game, does he do many others in a similar style?

'However vicious the race, they won't declare war just after you give in to their extortion: it would ruin their credibility when bullying other races in the future. And I could always take Solidarity back - it was deep in my territory, easy to culture-hug.

On the other hand, **** you in your stupid beardy face you crinkle-browed alien ^&%^.' Class!

I've seen a lot of complaining about bugs in this game, can someone verify just how stable\prone it is?

Oh, and this made me chuckle:

PC Gamer blog said:
Nicely settled in, I locked my war-chest, cut spending, and dropped all taxation to zero. This made my people very, very happy. This made my people very, very horny. This made my population growth very, very fast. This is the Super Breeder ability, and at one point two-billion Spectres of Agony were being born a week. We were breeding like Spectres; Spectres, definitely not space bunnies.

:p :D

Probably my favourite 4x space game since Stars!, and that was quite some time ago. Fie and for shame to those who've ignorted this game so far - I just wish I could pick up the expansions cheap on impulse, but they're always so damn expensive.

Awesome game.Im playing on Twighlight of Arnor at the moment on an immense map.Its great fun.Can take up to half an hour per turn at the moment as im at war with nearly everyone now :)

Twilight. The expansions just add to the game and make it better, kind of like the Civ4 expansions. The single player storyline would need to be played game by game, but to be honest that's never appealed to me. Skirmish is where the real depth of the game is!

+1 i played the single player on dread lords but after that it was skirmish all the way.Twighlight is the most diverse of the 3 as well. This game can eat hours of your life away with ease :)

I doubt it, as I have no idea what that is.

The only settings I've touched are sound and display...oh and CPU to maximum.

Saying this I just crashed from two CoH games when we were making the final push argh.

Damn you computer!
