Spec wise it matches up, the iPhone basically looks like its going for 14xx*7xx display so far cry from 1080p. This will be thinner/lighter, battery specs also seem to match up, although some iPhone 6 leaks have pointed to 2100mha.
It's also a brand new SoC from Samsung and 20nm is very new. I would have personally like a 1080p panel in there but I'm pretty sure its for battery life.
Surely that is the definition of an iPhone competitor?

Seems Carphone warehouse are listing it as Qualcomm 801, P4U and O2 don't seem to say, EE, Handtec and Samsung all seem to be the Exynos.

If the reviews show the performance that was leaked, and with decent battery life, it's going to be very tempting...
The dots on the back look much nicer than the s5.

That would make me happy - the S2 was still the best phone I've owned to hold. Although that may have been due more to its size than anything.
Yep, reminds me of the S2 as well, and dimensions are pretty close, actually marginally smaller in the two that really matter 'in the hand':
SGS2 = 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5 mm
GA = 132.4 x 65.5 x 6.7 mm
So 7.1mm 'taller', 0.6mm narrower and 1.8mm thinner, sounds pretty good to me, although the N5 isn't bad I do kinda miss the size of the S2...

It's a smaller phone with a metallic rim. Obviously it's quite similar to the iPhone designs, but how can it not be!?
There's only so much that you can do with a slim rectangular design of that sort of size. There's even less you can do when you realise that the companies are both designing phones to appeal aesthetically to the same sort of markets.
So yes, they'll look similar, but it's just silly for people to go on about one manufacturer copying any other, in this sort of scenario at least.

I like that it's metal trimmed. Shame it doesn't have waterproof features. It will no doubt compete with the iP6 easily but having an IP6x rating would have snipped it comfortably ahead.

It looks just like a Samsung phone with a metal rim instead of plastic, I think people are taking this copying thing a tad far, theres not much else they could do at this point, nor did apple invent the metal rim around a device. Samsung have also had devices with metal rims e.g. wave.
