My Note I has started to malfunction. First the battery life started to plummet and the screen would corrupt while browsing a web page - The screen would start flickering then the phone shuts down unless I closed the page and turned the screen off.
Now the External SD card is being reported as faulty and a Format Card? message appears in the Notification bar.
So I took the card out to see if the phone would work ok without it and its just corrupted again and the phone shut down.

Its the original phone, so a couple of years old now, so could the battery be faulty and causing these problems? Anyone suffered similar problems?

How old exactly? should have 2 years warranty

edit - N7000 was released around Nov 2011 so a warranty repair is a good option.

The flickering screen is due to the battery, I had the same thing, just buy a new one. Not sure about the sd card...

Yep as above the screen issue is for sure the battery.

Mine gets hammered as I use it as my work phone and I've had to replace the battery twice now. The handset however is still perfectly fine.
