Galaxy S8 - Where to buy replacement battery from

Hey all.
My S8 is over 3 years old now and the battery below 20% charge dies in a matter of minutes.
I've already replaced the back of the phone before so replacing the battery can't be much harder.

Question is where can I buy a good quality battery from? Ebay prices suggest cheap knockoffs or used ones.
 
Never found anywhere that sells good batteries.
Even avoiding eBay and buying 'genuine' parts, the battery has died in weeks.

Yeh I guess however I had a galaxy whose battery lasted 10mins or so and the eBay battery wasn't much better.
 
I had good results with an iPhone battery bought from ifixit.

The problem I've found with eBay batteries is not only are a lot of them fake with vastly reduced capacity e.g. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 batteries claiming to be 3220mAh ranging anywhere from 1900-2300mAh but still lasting only a few weeks or months. A lot of them were genuine, but used (knackered) batteries that appeared to have been relabelled to the dangerous ones that started swelling and were just fake.

Same for the majority of batteries I bought from Amazon. In fact I only found one genuine seller on both Amazon and eBay for the Samsung labelled Note 4 batteries.
 
Both the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Tab S 8.4 batteries I bought from ReplaceBase were fake and I was refunded on both without question. The Tab S battery was also physically smaller than the genuine one.

I suppose though that they may occasionally have genuine batteries available.
 
Battery from Ifixit fitted. I managed to break the back of the phone, doh! £7.50 for a replacement from Ebay.

The phone seems to be taking AGES to charge.

Do Li Ion batteries take a long time to charge the first time around?
Is there a setting in the phone where I tell it that it has a new battery?
 
They can take a long time to charge if they've dropped below the minimum voltage into 'sleep'. This shouldn't happen with a new retail battery.

Other alternatives for slow charge are faulty cable or charge port.

What percentage capacity is the phone showing?
 
This is why I'm so against this trend for batteries that aren't easily end-user replaceable in phones :( both my Note 1 and 4 I had to switch out the official battery within a relatively short amount of time - the Note 1 battery started swelling and the 4 wasn't holding capacity anything like it should after only ~18 months IIRC.

Install ampere and check charging rate. It should be up to 15w with the official (or any quick charge 2.0) charger. The first 50% usually charges at a higher rate

Why did you do it that way?

For optimal performance, calibrate your newly installed battery. Charge it to 100% and keep charging it for at least 2 more hours. Then use your device until it shuts off due to low battery. Finally, charge it uninterrupted to 100%.

Hi.. Do you still have the phone? How is the battery.. I'm kinda in the same boat..o don't really need a new phone but battery live is really bad
