Hey guys.

I'm looking for some form of gallery code i can use to display my photography on a website. The other stuff is taken care of, now it's just the gallery i'm after.

What do you guys recommend as a gallery? Which code? Do you have any favourites or something i can look at a choose from?

I'm after something minimalist and lightweight. Nothing fancy or flamboyant. Maybe just a grid on my site of thumbnails that when clicked, enlarge to full size or something. Preferably not right-clickable but not sure yet.

Also, for a backend, what's the easiest way to maintain this gallery? I'm not hugely talented when it comes to web coding so it'd need to be something easy for adding new photos, categories etc. Maybe some kind of FTP or something?

Seriously, no idea. Any help would be brilliant :)

Have a look at pixelpost, might not be exactly what you are after 'out of the box', but it is a very flexible gallery script and could be customised to do what you are wanting. I am using it on my website if you want to see a live example, and the back end is very good

Sounds like a Lightbox would be ideal, you could just set-up a table and put the thumbnails in each cell, then link them all to the full size pic but to open using the Lightbox.

I normally use this one: http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/

You see it used a lot these days, but it get sthe job done and look pretty sleek.

Thanks both!

I think lightbox is what i'm after. It's pretty nice! Lightweight and easy to nav, so that gets my vote. I dont mind that it's commonly used, i'm not a web designer and i dotn have thousands to spend on a site ;)
