Game building software.

Guys,

I'm trying to remember the name of some (I think it was free?) software that a lot of point and click adventure games are being made with atm.

I think zombie cow use a variation of it? Failing that, are there any other free game building apps out there that I could be looking at? Nothing too sophisticated in needed, I just fancy giving it a go.

Any suggestions?

A friend of mine completed a project a little while ago using a program called Game Maker. It looks like a great little program; I was certainly impressed with the final results. You can see what he produced for yourself at http://www.65millionand1bc.com/.

If you are more adept at the coding side, then there are a number of options aimed at game development. The Game Creators have a DarkGDK plugin for Visual C++ Express. Microsoft also have their XNA Game Studio for Visual C# Express.
