Pick and describe a game thats just brilliant (and maybe not that popular), so when someone like yourself, wants to buy or rent a game, but is stuck for ideas, you can relate here and maybe give something a go!

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

This is like God of War, but just nothing like God of War.

MASS EFFECT

It's a top class KOTOR RPG game meets a Top Class over the shoulder shooter, Made by one of the greatest Dev companies around Bioware. The storyline is great if a little short, Plenty of side quests to complete. You can carry over stats from previous characters, and re use them on harder difficulties, Upping your challenge and enjoyment at the same time. Also with a great sequel soon to be seen, It's a need to play game, So if you have not. GET TO IT SOLIDER

Shenmue

A great technical masterpiece from Yu Suzuki for the Dreamcast that encorporates many gametypes like Fighting, Adventure and Role-Playing, to form it's own genre entitled "FREE" (Full Reactive Eyes Entertainment). Contains one of the most explicitly detailed and interactive worlds ever created in a videogame. Every NPC and supporting character lives and breathes day to night with their own profession like in the real world. All characters/NPCs in-game are fully voiced. "Magic Weather System" for realistic generated weather efffects for each hour or day as the game passes by. The term "Quick Time Event" was first coined by this game. Known to be the most expensive videogame series created at the time, costing "$70 Million" and almost bankrupted SEGA. The series is still not complete, with die-hard fans craving for a Shenmue III!

Ryū ga Gotoku / Yakuza

A kind of spiritual successor (And more successful!) to the Shenmue games due to the very similar gameplay mechanics (Fighting, Adventure, RPG rolled into one) and heavy attention to detail for a living and breathing videogame world full of interactivity. Interesting story to enter into the near-realistic portrayal of the modern underworld life of Japan.

This both awesome series, Shenmue is a great game but pretty hard to find these days unless you have a Dreamcast. There is an emulator that will run it slightly glitchy but Shenmue 2 will work on Xbox 360's using backwards compatibility

Valkyria Chronicles

We may all rate it here, but it had terrible sales.

I am not surprised - have you seen how hard it is to buy a copy now in a store?

I tried to pick up last weekend - 6+ shops no sign. Eventually found in one second hand.

Online isnt that much better - It still has a highish price tag too.

Chromehounds

Think clan based Mechwarrior 2 deploying over xbox live in teams of 6 in a persistent war with 2 enemies. Multiple mech types from scouts to heavy artillery and total customisation. Different battlefields from city blocks to frozen tundra. An amazing game.

Rubbish sp though that's not what it's about.
