Personally can't wait for this season and from someone who hasn't read the books, what can I expect? Do we know much about this season yet (apart from the release date and a few new cast members)?

I would just like to say that this is the best tv series I have ever watched. The waiting between seasons is too much to bear though.

Does anyone know for sure how much earlier the US will air the episodes than here? I thought with Sky Atlantic there won't be a big delay?

I think it's typically a few days at most.

Not too sure why this thread is even in this forum, as it airs in the UK at practically the same time as the US... However, I am very much looking forward to it.

The ending of season 2 was such a cliffhanger!

Probably because it's a HBO series but god bless Sky Atlantic for airing it at practically the same time.

Can't wait for some of the episodes in the next series; if anyone hasn't read the books i'd highly recommend them.

Pretty sure its like 12hours at best really. Sure its practically the same day.

When's it kicking off?

I started reading the books and am into the second one at the moment. It's interesting how the first book was nearly scene-for-scene identical to that season, but the second is apparently not (or I've just forgotten a lot), yet I'm assuming they still aim towards the same conclusion.

The only way it could be more perfect is if Ray Stevenson dropped in too :D

 ...I have just thought of the perfect part for him to play! ....but it would be a spoiler to say who;)

I would say that overall the series is incredibly faithful to the books tbh, considering that they can't do everything

I have a few questions.

How much of Storm of Swords was in the second season twoards the end? Having read Clash of Kings I know there is a lot of stuff that wasn't in the book, however I've read the 'Notes about Chronology' of Storm of Swords which makes me immediately think that some of the characters viewpoints that aren't in CoK come from SoS. Is this the case?

If that is the case I wonder if anyone know how much book Season 3 is likely to cover? I've heard rumours that it will just cover part 1 of SoS, this must mean SoS has a lot of plot in it.

I can't wait to start reading it tbh, CoK was so much better than season 2. I've not really been a reader before a year ago and I was always dubious when I heard people say books were better, I though they were just trying to appear as elitist *********. It turns out though, that they have been telling the truth.

I don't really know what you mean.....Pretty much everything that happened in ACOK was in season 2 wasn't it....I don't remember anything in season two from ASOS.

I REALLY hope so, as there is just so much going on in ASOS, it really is the best of the series imo, by quite a long way. And there is an extremely pivotal event that happens that they could easily use to split it in to two seasons
