Hi , recently my performance in games has been slipping , i used to be pretty near the top in most matches i played , (mostly playing COD4 and COD WAW) but in recent weeks i'm getting out shot quite a bit of the time , i've got a bit of money to possibly upgrade my graphics if thats whats required , but reading a fair few posts on here i'm not sure if i need to or if i do what to go for for a decent performance increase , my setup is whats in my sig , any advice would be appreciated on what i can do to increase my performance

As games get older, the poor players get fed up and leave, and the hardcore players stay. Thus, you get more good players in a match and less bad players, so you won't do as well as normal. It's not you getting worse, it's everyone else getting better.

Hang in their m8 and persist. I'm sure you'll be pwnin' again soon. I know what its like, some days I can't hit a barn door. Other days I get invites to join clans. These games, css, cod 4 etc are all about reaction timing. Approximate aim or being aware of the hitboxes and fast as possible reactions will stand you in greater stead than taking too long to get ultra crisp shots all the time. Some of the best players I've ever watched or played against don't exactly spray with their bullets but they are, imo, untidy in their style, rough round the edges - but it works for them and they are more consistent than me.

Dont listen to the others

Go get yourself a new shiney PC at about £2000

Your shots will get far more accurate with a new PC

AND

You will help the ailing economy

Its a win win situation

Dont delay , buy today !

Any reason to upgrade is a good one!
New Mouse? Mouse mat?
Get another 4850?

Only thing is, no guarantee it's going to improve your game.

As with all machines there is a time limit on usage, when it comes to computer the life expectancy of a laptop or desktop these days is around about 4 years max, after this period there is a significant loss of performance, which is noticeable on boot up and when playing games you will notice latency and some lag with the graphics card.

It’s a fact of mechanical life, after a period of time machinery starts to slow down.

Practice makes perfect!

I use to be a half decent Counter strike player was pretty high up in Enemy down league
a few years ago.Stopped playing it for a while, now im useless!! LOL I cant hit **** all

All i can say drink some red bull or full caffine coke and get practicing!!!

Counterstike runs about 25-30fps on my dell laptop, been playing it that way for abt 2 years. New pc comes on monday can't wait to see what it'll be like with it, and this topic got me thinking whether my scores will go up.

^^I remember upgrading from an athlon xp2.5 barton + an ATI X800 256mb pro vivo to a dual amd 4400 + an Nvidia 8800gtx 768mb and the difference was quite noticeable so I'm sure with your huge upgrade you'll be getting more headshots.
