Game recommendation?

My gf is getting me cod4 for xmas, but my mom is asking me if there's any games she could get me. Now i was considering Assassins Creed, but its getting so many mixed reviews im not so sure.

What would you guys suggest?

Need For Speed Pro Street is pretty good mate. Currently playing Kane and Lynch which is not too bad either.

Assassins Creed is a bit repetitive but is also great fun and its just a joy to play a game that looks as good as it does.
But saying that I haven't heard a single bad word about Mass Effect so go for that.

Yeah i should have said, its for 360. Is Mass Effect good then? Id really like to play a demo. I've never played a halo, so feel like im cheating myself by jumping in on the 3rd.

I dont like the Need for Speed series, and Kane and Lynch doesnt really float my boat either.

If you play online then COD4 will probably eat all your time up anyway, I would suggest PGR4 if you like driving games

Would definitely say Mass Effect or Orange Box, possibly leaning more to Orange Box as its just such a good deal.

If you've never played nor have you got Oblivion, I'd get that.

Mass Effect is amazing, Assassins Creed is Good.

Game's for the FUN factor I would say are Crackdown and dead rising.

Bioshock I would say is like Marmite, You either love it or hate it.

Just look at the overall average scores for reviews and see what you like, so many of these threads pop up all the time and I don't understand it. There's video reviews everywhere now.

Having said that, Orange Box, Orange Box, Orange Box.

After giving the demo another go, i think i may ask for Bioshock. Good choice lads?
