I am aware of FRAPS for recording game footage but id rather not pay for it.

Any free software out there?

Need something for my eve pirating and the battles that usually follow.
 
Quite a few games have a built in demoing function that can then be converted into a video, there's also quite a few that will dump a load of image files which can then once again be turned into a video. Have you checked the games your using if they can do something like this?

Paying for FRAPS is probably worth it if you are going to use it a lot though.

I was only really after it for EVE.
 
Well ive tried gamecam, but i cant get it working in EVE and even in games like COD2 MP it results in me getting a punkbuster kick from the server :(

Going to try the other suggestions over the next few days and if i cant get to grips with any of them ill just have to buy fraps.
 
This won't help, but I've been in the same hunt for decent programs and I just keep returning to FRAPs.

:( Damn lack of quality variety in that particular type of software.
 
ive got it only used it once lost it when i formatted so no longer have it it was good as it showed ** FPS screenshot and video recording theres maybe better 1's out there
