Game soundtracks

Jeremy Soule is a legend but most of the music in oblivion was in morrowind so that's what I'd put as favourite. I actually prefer morrowind version of the main theme than oblivion's too.

Actually Oblivions music was different completely to Morrowinds.

Not sure what your on about.

I have grown attached to every music from any gane I've played as a kid, modern music often doesn't cut it...

Aoe:RoR, AoE2: AoK, Knights and Merchants, Transport Tycoon Deluxe, Commander Keen 4, C&C: RA and C&C: RA2, GTA: VC, Mafia, Settlers IV, Cossacks: European wars, Pharaoh, Caesar 3, Theme Hospital, etc... I like all that music now.

Must say Fallout 3 has great music now, GTA IV doesn't have the worst music, Bioshock great music at places too, GTA: SA had many very very good songs in, Unreal Tourney 2k4 has some very catchy songs even though usually fps games have boring music imo. Oh and I still liked some of the RA3 music I have to admit, it still soudns better than the rubbish in the average game.

GTA Vice City was awesome, the original Gran Turismo.

Plus I love the music in Unreal + Unreal Tournament (sadly the music has got worse with each progressive game)

The Orange Box Soundtrack is great.

(not strictly a soundtrack, but was used by Bungie with promoting Halo)
Breaking Benjamin - Blow me away. Great song.

gotta be gears of war II for me, the whole game had epic soundtrack pumping in the background, favourites being the music in the final cutscene called 'Finale' appropriately enough, plus the speech in that game is immense! :D

Hope you like the looks of them, they were originally made for some old clan mates who'd been playing games for years as well, as a trip down memory lane. They just happen to contain what I personally think are some of the more memorable tracks that have come around. I have plenty more soundtrack stuff here, but obviously I dont want to fill the lists with huge numbers of memorable tracks from just a few games.

You will probably notice there's a heavy trend towards Japanese orientated sountracks, however I believe that is only fair as Asia has given us some of the best games; and along with it the best soundtracks. Hear the emerald hill zone theme, pokemon theme, or the Deus Ex theme and they will instantly bring back memories for most of us, same with the Baldur's Gate themes.

Edit:
Links removed as per Kreeee. They're still on filefront though so if anyone really wants them, my email is in trust.

2. To Zanarkand - Final Fantasy X - By Square-Enix

Just reading that gave me goosebumps, easily one of the most amazing tracks ever. Coupled with a frankly incredible game and it's mind blowing.

Won't be long now, the first pack is 90% uploaded, The mp3s are all in 128KBps or better, however given the source nature some of them sound a little rough :)
To Zanarkand I believe I included the piano arrangement version as I felt it was the more touching, and also the best recorded of the main variants out there :)

Compilation 1 up, download link added :)
The packs are RAR downloads, unpassworded. Also included as well as the songs is a playlist text listing the above, and an m3u playlist file so you can listen as intended.
