Finaly settled on what i want now i think:

AMD 64 X2 4200+ (socket 939)

Powercolor ATI Radeon 1900 xt 512mb

geil 2gb (2x1gb) pc 3200

Asus A8R-MVP Crossfire (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard

Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB SATA-II 16MB Cache Hard drive

Tagan TG580-U15 580W ATX2.01 Easycon SLi Compliant Modular Silent PSU

Just one thing i noticed when looking at performance results, the dual core
64 x2 4200+ dosent seem to perform as well as the AMD 64 4000+ http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2410&p=7

would it be worth going for the dual core still, or go with the 4000+ ?

I would go dual core. More & more games are being patched to dual core or will natively suport dual core, when released.

EG: Quake4 is approx 60% faster with the dual core patch than without.
