I understand that going between multiple launchers can be a bit annoying but gamepass is such a good deal that it's worth keeping it installed IMO.

Well I've got just over 2 years left of my subscription but if there's no easy way to game it I wont use it going forwards

If you've stacked gold and then converted using the £1 offer, the only difference will be on the cost of the conversion. I'm going to assume the minimum period is a month, and say that you'd need to buy 1 month of game pass and add it to your account to have it convert the entire gold sub to game pass. So that'd be ~£14 extra in total IIRC.
