Games for low end graphic's laptop

You might just about be able to run Just Cause 2 on its lowest settings on that laptop. I have a laptop with a lower end CPU and integrated GPU and would get 15-20FPS on the lowest settings before fixing the problem that stopped the dedicated GPU from working, so your laptop might just get a reasonable framerate.

Failing that here's a big +1 for FTL.

FTL as above!
Prison Architect
Project zomboid
Papers please
Kerbal space program
Sims 2
Sim city 4
Rollercoaster tycoon 3

The is a good few that can kill the hours! ;)

On my really ancient old laptop the games I could get running were (as well as the ones already mentioned):

Darwinia
Psychonauts
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Grand Theft Auto 3
Torchlight 1 & 2 (version 1 is good fun, never really got into 2)

And if you are just looking for something light to dip in and out of:
Peggle
World of Goo
Plants vs Zombies

(Edit: and the Baldur's Gate/Neverwinter Nights games too)

You're right about imagination, kids these days don't seem to use theirs.

Catan is more of a boardgame on the PC but I had it on my vista laptop and it's really fun to waste 20mins on. It's single player and you play against computer opponents.

FTL, Deadlight and Bidning of Isaac are all great too. I'm completely addicted to Binding of Isaac at the moment though.

I had a blast with Drakensang and Crusader Kings II on a fairly low-spec laptop when I had to be away for work for a while last year. Both ran fine and passed the dull evenings stuck in a hotel room in a dreary city where I didn't know anyone.

Good old games and bundlestars have plenty of cheap/low spec but fun games, just double check the requirements before buying as they do list a few newer titles as well

Re: Crusader Kings II I found a really good deal for that earlier, £7.42 with all DLC from bundlestars.. posted it up in daily deals thread

Good call. Bought it and it's excellent!. I'd never considered getting an interactive novel before (though I remember the paperback versions from when I was a kid) so I wonder what other great ones arecout there...
