Games for Windows Marketplace login - help!

Hi guys. After a long time away, I tried to login to the Games for Windows Marketplace application on my desktop, but it won't let me login using my Windows Live ID and password.

My ID and password allow me to login in on http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/PC no problem, and my gamertag shows up correctly.

Am I missing something? I've tried uninstalling the Games for Windows Marketplace app and reinstalling it again, but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Did you try downloading the updated GFWL client?. You might be using the old one?.

GFW Marketplace app not longer lets you buy content you can manage what you have but all purchases are now through as its migrating over to be integrated in Windows 8:
http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/PC

Delete cookies as it stores your password there for the app.

I had the same problem. Accepting the new Terms Of Service TOS did the trick for me.

Thanks guys - really appreciate the help. My GFWL client is the latest version (at leat I went to the MS website and downloaded it today.) Also tried clearing cache.

The one thing I've not been able to do is accept the new terms of use (TOU). I've been to the site (and logged in using my UN/PW) and seen the TOU but there isn't an option to accept them. Any ideas? They don't make it easy do they?

Got a screenshot of the page where you can't accept it? IIRC, it was a fairly hidden link that you would otherwise miss.

Also, i think the way i did it was.. Try to log into the games for windows marketplace which is installed on your pc and i think there might be a link in there which takes you to a website where you can then accept the new terms.

Thanks all - problem solved. I had changed my password to a super-secure 20-character one generated by KeePass. So it turns out that the password must be no longer than 16 characters. Feel a bit daft now!
