games freezing

Hi Guys,

I've got a problem with games freezing after about 20mins of playing, I've only noticed it with bioshock and crysis war head at the mo.

It all plays sweet for 20mins or so then freezes i can ctrl+alt+del back to windows and end task to stop it.

I've just installed an arctic cooler for my 4870x2 the card runs really cool never over 60c however my southbridge is now running propley hot 65+ after gaming, could that be the problem? a lot of the hot air from the card is now blowen straight on to it!

the card is overclocked a little using CCC. I dont think it is the CPU at that is prime stable for 10 hours+ and it not stressed that much in games anyway.

Any help or ideas please?

Set everythiny to stock and try, to eliminate that.

this plus try updating your drivers or rolling back to older ones.

Check the event viewer too.. This may give you some idea as to what's going on.

Out of personal curiosity what are you using to measure the southbridge temps?

back to basics and then tweak a little at a time!
