Hey guys, i keep having this recurring problem with my PC. Ever since ive changed over to my 5770's my games will randomly freeze up and it requires me to restart to fix. It doesnt happen all the time, sometimes it can be days..other times it can happen every 20 minutes orso.

Now ive stressed everything out (Orthos, Furmark) with no problems what so ever...So its leaving me wondering what the problem is? Driver issues? My specs are in my sig! Cheers J

well it is winter.
:)

Jason I also have a 5770 with the exact same problem. Unfortunately it's the ATI drivers. I've been waiting a few months for them to fix it, but with the lastest Catalyst 9.12 its just made it worse. Hope they fix it soon, or I'm going back to Nvidia.

Well i may try the 9.11 drivers again for a while and see if that helps, i dont remember having as many lockups with those drivers, but would be nice for a fix!

when it crashs what is on screen ?

The last frame rendered, before it locks up...there isnt any sound looping either

You could try the 9.11 drivers, or potentially try reseating your graphics card. What PSU are you using? It's possible it's not providing enough power during games.

@hyperst, your system stable now after the new memory? Don't think I'll be buying OCZ memory again! Although my old memory might actually be ok seeing as it was down to my motherboard pins causing lockups!

LoL,ROFL:D

Are you sure OC is stable? I recently found out you need a 24 hour run of prime blend then 12 LFFT and then 12 Small FFT...........then linx 25 + passes full memory then 10 passes memtest then overnight HCI to catch that tiny stability problem you might have.........I had to do that to rule out OC as part of my 5870 vertical screen problem.......if you are over or around 4ghz try relaxing memory timings aswell. Maybe try card in a diffent pc if poss.

Okay i think i may know what the problem is..im running mixed ram xD

I have two 1GB sticks of crucial ballistix pc8500..and two 1GB of corsair
dominator pc 8500 :{

Completely forgot i was running it like that, anybody else think that maybe
my problem??

I have a similar problem with my 5770 (Sapphire one) it freezes, verticle lines appear on my screen, then my PC reboots, system is stable and no overclock, starting to think its the drivers also :(
