Games that define consoles

It's simple really, Pick the console and pick the game you feel defines that console. I guess you could say its the best game on that console, but more than that. You're looking for what sonic was to sega, and what mario was to Nintendo. What Mickey is to disney! and what Homer is to the Simpsons

I added to the first few in my list, my favourite games aswell. Just to try and give a sense of what I'm trying to achieve with this thread.

This is my list:

Xbox 360 - Gear of War series (Note my favourite game is actually Mass Effect)
Xbox - Halo (Note my favourite game is actually Ninja Gaiden)
Playstation 2 - Devil may Cry (Note my favourite game is actually, FF10)
Playstation 3 - Uncharted Series (Note my favourite game is actually, MGS4)
Nintendo Wii - Mario Galaxy
Nintendo Gamecube - Resident evil 4
Super Nintendo - Super Mario World
Sega Mega Drive - Goldenaxe
Master System - Shinobi
PC - Half life ( Favourite ever PC game? Starcraft )

Also, I notice I said define consoles, and added in PC. But hey, Who cares.

For Mega Drive I would have to say Sonic personally. The game that got me into Video games.

Playstation 3 - Uncharted
Nintendo Wii - Mario Galaxy or perhaps Zelda
Nintendo Gamecube - Resident evil 4
Super Nintendo - Super Mario World
Sega Mega Drive - Sonic
Master System - Shinobi
PC - Unreal/Quake

Just my view on things. None of these are my favourite by the way. Just when someone mentions that certain console I just think that.

N64 while i would say Zelda OOT is the best game on it the game that defined was Goldeneye

Well the defining game for the Wii is Wii Sports, cannot see how anyone could think of anything else TBH, it was the game that sold the Wii to many.

I'm not sure how Resi 4 can define the Gamecube, it wasn't exactly replete with mature titles. Surely a defining title is one which shows what the console is all about? I'd have to say Smash Bros Melee, as it was an all out Nintendo experience for it. Or Metroid Prime, thinking about it.
