Games that should make a comeback

Grand Prix 2
Tribes2
Star Wars Galaxies - pre CU NGE

no need to change the gameplay as they were perfect on release and i'd never need to buy any other games ever ...

*i know about the Emu versions of the MMo*

EDIT: I would like a theme hospital remake though:)

Me too, bought it on the PSN and have a copy for the PC.

Incidenatly does anyone know how to get it to work on x64 Vista Premium? IIRC I can't even get into the start of the install procedure before it chucks it and says not compatible.

Cheers

a scrolling beat em up.

Final fight would be awesome remade. i used to love that game, include a load of pickupable weapons a la fighting force style and you've gone yourself a winner. over the internet/live would be awesome!

Cheers shall give it a try when I get home, I knew about compatability changing, just didn't think you could do it with the CD and it had to be installed first.

i didnt know that either till the other day :p red alert worked flawlessly on vista 64bit for, im quite surprised! (with the XP Patch too)

They mention Tribes which I loved but Vivendi also made Starsiege (the mech game set in the future). You could buy them both together which was great. I probably played the demo of starsiege more than the actual game. I remember the maps being really big and open and therefore it was a bit of a hassle to get into the battles straight away. There was of course the distraction of playing tribes too. I'd love a game that combined the too although it may be pretty unbalanced like shooting ground troops in Battlefield 2142 in that mech.

i would also like a battlefield 3, which is based around battlefield 2, new locations, new weapons (while keeping the old weapons, too) updated graphics, and maybe more vehicles too. its asking a lot..well actually no it isnt. but they have a solid foundation there, they should build on it. not make crappy games set in the future.. yawn. i dont want laser weapons and stuff. i want a nice 7.62 assault rifle! and a mig29 to fly about in if i choose to!

Just bf2 but with nicer graphics, a way of shutting up the commander up as he constantly spams 'Enemy spotted' over and over, a better way of joining friends games (bf2142 is easier to join a server where a friend is playing). Also an auto-update window in start up, like WoW, so if you need to update it does it for you.

Whilst bf2142 is good, bf2>>>bf2142.

I hear bf3 is free, with in-game advertising paid for by companies?? Just heard off a friend, have no proof of any sort so could be BS!

Thief
Looking Glass Studios created the "sneaker shooter" genre with this medivel fantasy game franchise. The first Thief game was released in 1998 and gave us our first look at Garrett, an assassin and, well, thief who depended on keeping himself unseen to his foes. A sequel was released in 2000 which also turned out to be the last game for Loooking Glass.

In 2004 Thief Deadly Shadows was released via developer Ion Storm Austin (where many former Looking Glass members had moved to). Once again the game was praised for its mix of action and stealth. Since then Eidos has not expressed an interest in going back to the Thief franchise but if they can return to Deus Ex there's no reason why Garrett can't sneak into the shadows once again for a fourth installment.

Rumours are already flying around of a new Thief game. Eidos have been dropping hints recently. I hope its true!

If nobody has mentioned it, we definately need a new strike game.

Nuclear strike was nailed on, just about as good as fmv in a game got. With new online tech and perhaps a dynamic campain worked in, EA could pull a big seller on whats still a well known ip.

Desert and jungle are classics, soviet and nuclear were classy games, just a smooth visual update on the later would be a good thing.
