Games to movies...what one's?

Halo
Metro 2033
Fallout (would be the best movie ever)
I think CoD BlackOps would make a good movie

Then some good aviation movies from sims such as Cliffs of Dover, Rise of Flight, F4 BMS, DCS A-10C

For everyone who keeps saying Fallout, there are hundreds of post-apoc films out there that tell a very similar story.

The only recent movie that tells a similar story that I can think of is The Book of Eli. And the fact that it is post apocalyptic is the only similarity I can think of. I want a film where the lone wanderer escapes Vault 101, travels to Megaton, defuses the bomb, completes the main quest story line, reunites with his father, completes Project Purity at the Jefferson Memorial and lives happily ever after (sequels could involve the DLC main quest lines). So no, there is no film like that.

There really wouldn't be any point in the film copying the game 100% would there?

You'd know every detail of what was about to happen. You know all the characters, all the locations, and you'd know how it all ends.

Booooring!

Besides, the true Fallout is FO1 :p

Meh, I'd still watch it over and over :D
Recommend some good post-apocalyptic movies?

12 Monkeys is great.
Boy and his Dog is old but good.
28 Days Later I personally didn't rate too highly, but lots like it.
Book of Eli was decent.

Of course there's Mad Max, Terminator, Waterworld.

Could start here if this kind of thing is your bag:

[edit]I guess The Time Machine might be classed as post-apoc too.

@Daze children of men is very good, some of the long scenes are epic.

Half life would be an awesome trilogy if it was done well, way too much happens to make it into a single movie. However the chances of it being done well are pretty slim, would probably be too hollywood.

Halo, Mass Effect and Deus Ex are 3 movies I want to see, simply because I'm a sci-fi fan and they have potential to be epic.

I would also like to see a X movie for some epic space battles.

Singularity also has potential to be pretty cool with the time effects that could be employed.

They are making a Bioshock movie, a Half Life movie has been rumored for years and probably will happen eventually, I think the next big "Game to Movie" is Halo and I heard it's Peter Jackson directing so prepare for a 3 hour sleep-fest.

IMO "Game to Movie" just doesn't work because they either don't stick to the game plot enough e.g. essentially, they don't just tell the same story, but in movie form.

OR

They take elements of the games and create a new plot/central character in the style of Resident Evil. Obviously this is the favoured form as it doesn't just bring out the die hard fans, it opens the gates to people who have never even heard of the game. However this often annoys the die hard fans as they sometimes miss out or change important details

BUMBLEBEE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A VW BEETLE!
THE ROCK IS NOT "DOOM GUY"
WHERE THE HELL WAS LEON?!
