Games where you build up a company/business? (Not tycoon type games)

So I just started playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 (don't laugh, I did but it's actually hella fun) and I really like the fact that much of it's draw is buying trucks, upgrading those trucks, hiring drivers and making your business larger and larger with extra garages and stuff.

I'm wondering if there are any other games which follow this type of formula? The only example I can think of at the moment is the X series (sort of) but I'm sure there must be more.

Game Dev Tycoon? (Although it is a rip of Game Dev Story on the mobile) but obviously we are in the PC area so :)

EDIT: D'oh its to early and i never read the title hahahaha :) ignore my comment.

Create an eBay account and take yourself down to boot sales, charity shops and liquidation auctions :D

I once picked up 600 dog figurines for £20 at auction, sold about 200 of them for £1 each at a boot sale, sold the rest on ebay in lots of 5 for £5 + postage over a couple of weeks. Always on the lookout but I'm lazy these days, unless there is a 10x uplift I CBA :p More rewarding than any video game

Just a quick thought, you probably already considered it;
There are a few city builders out there which might satisfy the same desire of growth and development as you'd get from a business game. Ceasar/Pharoah, Sim City, Anno series, Cities XL...?

Sorry I forgot to mention the whole "not tycoon games" bit in my post, I'm looking for something more along the lines of you controlling you character/car/truck/ship in the primary game focus like Euro Truck Simulator 2 lets you drive trucks in order to build your company up from nothing, or how the X series lets you slowly upgrade and buy new and bigger ships and have a huge empire.

Sort of like Mount & Blade Warband lets you slowly increase your army size and then start your own kingdom, that sort of thing.

I did email the company that makes ETS2 as I thought they missed a trick with only being able to hire Drivers, upgrade trucks and buildings, they should have added other companies you could buy out/takeover or even be bought out and start from the bottom again.

So many possibilities but they wanted a truck driving simulator.

Yeah that would've been brilliant, maybe they'll add that later as they are still patching it.

Anybody got any suggestions? Bearing in mind It's not tycoon or city building games I'm interested in.

Thanks for all the replies!

Hmmm yeah I quite liked CIM 1. It doesn't really have the whole continuous start up your business with nothing and end up with a huge empire type of deal though, it's more mission orientated isn't it?

Am I looking for something that seemingly doesn't exist?
