Games you Bought and played Once

I've barely played any of my games even ones I have bought full price on release.

Add to that those I have played I've only played a few more than a couple of hours.

I like to talk about games and get caught in the hype of a new game more than I play it.

Last one was Chivalry. Really don't see the appeal of that garbage.
quick tip: if you see a game & think their is nothing appealing about it, don't buy it :P

For me the most recent one was the Witcher 2, I loved the first one so much thought I'd feel the same about the sequel but something about it did not grab me like the first, I should probably go back to it as I've only heard good things about it.

All these I bought in a steam sale, have played once or twice but no more:

GTA IV
Fallout New Vegas - not as fun as Fallout 3
Metro 2033 - A little bit consoley
Bioshock 2 - but tha'ts more to do with the DRM wanting me to sign up to some rubbish
Tomb Raider Anniversary - seemed like a good idea at the time
Crysis - I died once and haven't played it since
Wolfenstein
Oblivion - just didnt find it as fun as Elder Scrolls

All these were about £2-5 and I'm not too worried. The only game that I have on steam that I paid (well it was given to me for Christmas) full price for but not played was Shogun2 Total War. I started a campaign and just didn't enjoy it as much as Empire TOtal War so I ended up just starting a new campaign of that instead.

Erm thanks for the tip.

It looked very appealing until I BOUGHT it and PLAYED it.
Sorry for the sarcasm, all in jest & all that :) what I should have put was the obligatory gamer response if someone does not like a game that they like which is "only because you were **** at it, go back to COD!"

What did you not like about it?

Should have a thread about games never played. Of 139 Steam games, I have only started 38 of them. 101 never touched. I don't waste money at all.

Doesn't happen very often because I'm pretty selective. However, 3 spring to mind.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Just didn't grab me at all. Seemed incredibly dull and I had absolutely no desire to touch it again.

TW Shogun 2: Exactly the same as above. Enjoyed Rome, but this just bored me rigid for some reason.

Dark Souls: Now this one I actually like, and I'm sure I could sink a lot of hours into it. Problem is that it's rock hard and I just don't have the time anymore - demanding job, baby, etc. It's just not going to happen. (Actually I played this twice....)

The problem is a lot of people enjoy collecting games on steam, bragging rights, steam sales etc etc.

I don't really buy sp games as I know they will not hold me for more then a sitting generally.

One game I did buy recently was csgo, thankfully it was cheap.

Far Cry 2 - played for about 10 mins and realised I should have listened to the people saying not to bother.

Supreme Commander. A mate thought it was good, and it only cost me £4.99. Played one multiplayer game with him (that lasted all of about 1/2 hour), then started playing something else and never looked at it again.

AVP 2
Cold Fear
Far Cry 2
Amnesia (although only because I'm scared)
Resident Evil 5
Dead Space
Black and White
Call of Duty MW2
Borderlands
Condemned
Crysis 2 (really regret this buy, not as much as Far Cry 2 though)
Dark Falls
Dead Island
Dead Space 2
Fallout New Vegas
Portal
Scratches
The Ship
Thief Deadly Shadows
X3
Warhammer 40,000
Tombraider Anniversary
Robocop (so bad I sent it away as a free suprise gift with an item I sold on ebay, the buyer played it once and sent it back to me saying I'm not dumping it on him :/)
Lego Star Wars

I have plenty more which has now led me to just stop buying most games, it's also what puts me off buying Mass Effect 3, especially with the negative ending reviews.

Quite a few of my steam collection hasnt been touched. It's a but gutting when you buy a game for £20 then dont even play it and see it in a sale for £5 :(:D. It's just finding the time to play them, especially when a game like Borderlands 2 comes out and soaks up all my free time.
