Games I want to replay but don't want to because...

Elder Scrolls Oblivion because I know it will suck me in for 100 hours plus and I have other important things to do
Elder Scrolls Skyrim Special Edition - see Oblivion

Edit: I'll also end up spending hours trying to mod them both which will take even more time.

Same for GTAs with me - just some stuff that is no real fun to go through and no sense of accomplishment either if you finally get past those bits.

I keep wanting to replay Half-Life or the Black Mesa version but I know that what is really drawing me is the impression left by the overall experience and some sections are so dated gameplay wise a good bit won't be that interesting as an experience now.

Some others like Drakan (order of the flame) and Omikron that I never did justice to on first play through and kind of want to go back replay them but know that I'd get too bored with a lot of the poor mechanics especially combat or just random puzzles that don't make much sense, etc.

GTA 5 - Single Player

Seem to have completed 40% of the game on two separate occasions and lost the save on both occasions and just can't bring myself to start over once again.

On the opposite end of the scale, I've completed the main story a few times, and even got a 100% save game (all side missions, collectibles etc).

Warcraft 3 and The Frozen Throne expansion.

My memory of playing through the campaigns on each of these games, drinking beer at night for hours in my twenties are just too happy for me. I simply couldn't re-live the experience now I don't think. Kids, wife and a mortgage frankly destroy that notion.

Ultima Online
Because I will spend the next decade trying to rediscover the magic that occurred 10+ years ago but never find it.

Interesting topic.

FFX and Dues Ex I just remember too much.
Rimworld - Burnt out

Doom 3. I played and finished the entire game muted. The sounds of the game scared the crap out of me. I cant make myself to go back and play it through again.

I played that with headphones and the lights off.

Until I had to fight something.

GTA V. I bought it, spent an age downloading it, spent an age waiting for it to load, played around with it online with a couple of mates for a few hours and uninstalled it without touching single player. I just felt no draw to it like I did with 3 / Vice City / San Andreas / 4. Plus sod that download again...
If you would have started on the single player you would have probably liked it. The multiplayer is rubbish imo. Just a load of boring missions and races or free roam deathmatch that gets boring after a couple of hours. GTA is all about the story driven single player for me, then if you still crave for that sandbox deathmatch fun after that then move to the multiplayer. Plus exploring the world is much more fun when you do it as part of the main story and not just jump in the fastest sports car and drive around the entire map in a few minutes. At least for me anyway.

Would love to play the last of us again but have now completed it about 13 times and don't want it to lose it's charm. I might play it the night before TLOU2

"Without touching single player" isn't entirely true. I probably had about an hours worth of play time purely in single player - but as I said, I just wasn't drawn in the same way I was with the previous games.

Final Fantasy 7 - Loved that game played it a few times all the way through, now it's the overly long cut scenes that put me off (although, having said that I've recently installed the HD mod and it has resparked my interest but I struggle going back to it regularly)

I struggle to replay games like the Final Fantasy series because of the need for grinding combat to level up, it's okay to do the first time through the game because I'm pushing through for the story.
When I know what's coming and the amount I need to grind for a certain point in the game, it starts to feel like more of a draining task.

I'm not keen on replaying campaigns on RTS games such as Command & Conquer or Supreme Commander, they're often too restricting to go through them more than once.
Similar issue with FPS campaigns... they're often extremely linear, so a second play through becomes too dull to finish.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag is another I can't replay (from the beginning at least), as much as I enjoy the game for it's naval combat I hate the need to progress the story to unlock things.

Indeed. 20y ago had more time, was younger and could last few days without sleep. Especially trying to do some mining away from pk times.....

Also Elder scrolls oblivion. Because graphics don't look that good today, trying to patch It with mods takes hours, and those potato heads drive me nuts.
But I want to spend another play through to it

Witcher 3 including both dlc, played through twice and 100% it both times on different difficultys, got nothing left to do and as much as I love the world there are no surprises for me anymore.

I'd probably have a heart attack if i did that. I'd also go all bruce lee on anyone who'd casually walk in bedroom if i played the game like that. I rreealllyyy dont get how you can play games like that, you guys are crazy.

It's not out for the PC yet but is getting a release soon I believe, but my game would be Okami. I enjoyed it at the time, but it went on and on and on and on and on!

Going back many a moon.

Hobbit on C64.

I was only 3-4 screens away from getting home and completing it when I stopped at a friendly elf's and kept saying "hello" (i think it was hello) On every 3rd "hello" he would give you a sandwich.

I ate too much and died....................
