Take a look at the Aircar demo on Oculus - gives a great impression of how a modern G-Police might look, and is a great experience in its own right. (Should also work with revive for Vive users).

Robo Recall is close... but I would love to play time crisis at home again. Last time I remember it was using light guns on the original playstation.

I agree. Elite Dangerous is sort of filling that slot for me, but the combat leaves much to be desired.
Tie Fighter was a peak for space combat.
If I remember right I used to spend hours playing this game many years ago on a sony playstation (the first playstation )

Unreal Tournament. Probably a little too frantic for VR, but it should easily run at 90+ fps in VR on today's hardware.
I loved the original so much that my quarterly phone bills were over £600.
My favourite of all time, instagib. Im guessing 4v4 woot would be amazing until I hit the first jump pad with a 180 spin, my stomach landing before my body.
