Games you would like to see

Some good points there, HangTime.

Funnily enough, after finishing my post, I did almost go back and add that I didn't mind regenerating health 'that' much, since it occurred to me how much I had gotten used to it. Though, something like you mentioned, being able to carry health items around with you and use them when needed (Fear), or in some cases an even more realistic approach like Project IGI, where I think there injectable health boosts would be even better than regen imo.

All in all, I think a variety of health mechanics to be available in games wouldn't be a bad thing. Relatively small differences like this from one game to another I think helps give each work a little more character of its own.

I quite like regenerating health in shooters, ever since I started thinking of it as "luck" rather than "health". The longer you spend in the open, the more you are pushing your luck and the closer you come to the round that actually hits you.

A Mass Effect-esque style Warhammer 40K Inquisitor game.

HL³
KotOR 3
Homeworld 3

And Mass Effect 3, a proper game this time, that doesn't stomp all over or ignore the story built up in the first 2 games.

A CS game that pushes the physics engine to the max and models as much stuff as possible so you can blow holes in walls with breaching charges etc. (I loved office on Source because of all the destruction!). Think the next generation of destruction up from Bad Company 2 but obviously with far less explosives (it would still be a CS game after all).

This game would push the competitive part to one side in favor of the fun side (so what if the guns/levels are not finely balanced!?!).

It would have asymmetric levels with as much interactivity a possible - things like moving the container crane on cs_assault to block the entrance or squish someone etc. Or on 747, being able to run into the cockpit and turn on the engines/raise the undercarriage - I think this would be great fun and all the old moaning CS pros could get lost! :D

An EXACT remake of Battlefield: 1942 in the frostbite 2/3 engine.

I'm talking controllable ships, subs, planes, everything as it was.

/sigh :(

Yes, it does leave something to the imagination, which has its merits. So, you could interpret a minor amount of damage as a shock blast from a distance, or a bullet just catching the skin, etc. What I do miss about a number or image indicating health, is that I think it can add a little more atmosphere. There's something to quantify your state of emergency. :D
