Games...

Battle for Wesnoth - turn-based tactical strategy game, that's open source. About 200Mb+ in size. Fantastic little game, that will keep you amused.

Do you know of any freeware games that I could play?

I've been google hunting freeware games but I'm skeptical...

Trackmania Nations forever would prolly run at minimal settings, though badly I reckon, I can just about play it on a x1150 at 1280x800 with 25-35 fps.
Hedgewars if you like (2d) worms.
Frets on Fire is a nice GH3 freeware replacement.
GTA2, GTA are free from R*.
C&C is available for free.
LFS demo is enjoyable if you're into sims.
Far Cry ad supported
You could try freecol and freeciv if you think you'll like that.

You made my day with free civ.

Edit- And apparently free col. I love these types of games, sweet memories of them as a child.

If you have HL1 on steam, then get Team fortress classic. If you can find some servers (there are a few uk based.) you will enjoy it.

Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory

free

Full of cheats, if OP can pick up a copy of RTCW, it would be a better choice IMO.

I tried to get C&C but EA took it down from their promotion, I'll look for it again.

I'll get GTA aswell.

Bloody hell I bought far cry and have it on disc! I should've brought that. :( Fricking amazing game.

Someone on these forums mentioned that he'd modded FarCry to remove the Trigens - that would be a superb mod to get, dont seem to be able to find one around with a few quick browses.

Anyone know of one? Game still looks great on full eye candy IMO.
