Hi Guys

I have recently been getting back into Age of Empires II and want to play online with some friends. Microsoft no longer use MSN Games to play Age of Empires II online with and I am being directed to use Gamespy Arcade.

I have never played AoEII online before as I have always used LAN play. Has anyone used Gamespy Arcade before for any game and what are your views on it? I dont want to be installing anything on my PC that I dont want, hence me asking.

A mate and I used it to play baldurs gate together, it worked like a charm.

Its only useful for older games that dont have modern multiplayer options, server browsers and so on.

So you think it would be fine to use yea? There is no dodgey stuff that comes with it?

Yes its a perfectly legit piece of software, had no niggles running it.

You could also try Hamachi. Didn't know it is now owned my LogMeIn though. It's free for non-commercial use, connects two LANs over the internet.
