I'm currently borrowing a neighbours 1440 ultrawide 160hz monitor after using 60hz forever. While I can't tell you exactly what the point of diminishing returns is, I can say it is so much better. Just moving my cursor on the desktop was like melting butter in a pan, it just glides around the screen.
Gaming is hugely different, the first game I jumped into was Phasmo and it's just so smoooooth.
I'm not looking forward to giving it back to 4k60hz. I may have to seriously talk about keeping it for longer while I sell mine for funds to buy it
