Gaming Build (have some parts) advice needed.

If you're the impatient type, then you should at least get the board linked above (the Z68AP-D3) and stick with the 6850.

You can then upgrade the GPU (or add another one) in future when new stuff comes along, best of both worlds :)

EDIT: Yeah that is also a decent PSU, as is the OCZ, the BeQuiet one is nice and quiet, so yeah If you want less noise, that is a good choice.

£90 for a 6850 is not price inflated imo.

Nor is £125 for a 6870 which is really not far off 5870 performance (which still sell for £100 2nd hand)

Personally, I would get a 6870. You can always wait whether it is for a new product or for a new product to reduce the price of another product....just get the GPU and play !

Sorry maybe should have worded that better, I was referring to the Nvidia GTX 5** and ATI 7*** cards being a bit inflated, as someone mentioned the upcoming 7870.

They seem to be a bit mad in price, but maybe it's just me. The prices for the 6850/70 are pretty reasonable, just depends if you want lower cost or more performance, both are decent cards.

Seems I was a little slow in ordering my parts and they have now gone up :mad::mad: (only £20 but still)....

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus ATI Radeon HD 6850 DirectCU V2 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card **PRE-ORDER ONLY PRICE** £109.99
1 x Intel Core i3-2100 3.10GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £94.99
1 x Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard REV 1 £84.98
1 x OCZ ZS Series 650W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £57.98

Anyway I have been looking at bits again and would it be worth putting another £5 towards the Processor and get the following?
