Gaming build

Hi new to the forum and I'm looking for some advice on a new build. I have decided on the AMD route and pretty much set on the Gigabyte X470 Gaming 7 as my motherboard with the Gigabyte Aorus DDR4 Ram. I'm having a bit of trouble deciding on which CPU to get to go with it I will be using this system for gaming only. I have also just bought a 4k freesync monitor so am I best going down the Vega 64 route for graphics or will something like a 1080ti or a 2080 run ok without the Gsync. I'm not a total novice at this but I know there are guys and girls on here with far more knowledge and experience than me so any advice would be greatly appreciated. My budget is anything up to £1500

Thanks for the reply that was my thinking behind the Motherboard that should I want to change CPU for a 3000 series then this board should be able to do this no problems. Is the Gigabyte Vega 64 card a decent enough card not seen much about it. I was looking at the Nitro+ but I guess for what I'm looking to do the difference between the cards would be minimal?
