Hey all, I have a some knowledge of PC basics but when putting it all together to make a build I'm useless and have no clues of what to pick for my specific needs.

I'm a graphic design, motion designer/animator and a video editor. (Adobe After Effects, Premier Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator as well as Cinema 4D and programs like that). Also, in my spare time I like to play the graphical intense AAA games. In the future, it will be things like the new Battlefield.

Looking to make a completely new build. Looking to play games at 1440p, 60fps+.
And motion graphic work will usually be made at around 1080p-1440p with the occasional rare 4K edit.

I will need everything for this build, tower (micro if it's cheaper), monitor (1440p?), keyboard, mouse etc...everything.
From past experiences I don't particularly want an AMD graphics card even the new 480 and would much prefer a Nvidia, maybe a 1070? I really don't know.

It it possible to create a build for this price which will be able to handle all of this? I mean..cheaper than £1500 would be ideal but £1500 is my max.

All help will be greatly appreciated :)

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,567.88
(includes shipping: £0.00)

£50 cashback - https://toptechcashback.com/gb/en/pages/cpumb/qualifying

One SSD for OS and programs, another for Cache and other functions of your editing programs (first thing you want to do after OS install is set up that stuff in the programs' preferences/settings so everything starts going where it should). 2TB HDD for export and general storage. If you don't already have a backup solution, then you may want to add another HDD.

Basic keyboard and mouse to get you off and running can cost under £10.

I wouldn't recommend to save money by going with a cheaper CPU, as the extra cores/threads will help with the editing. Maybe wait for the 480 GPU instead. Or if prices fall further on 980Tis. 1070 prices should be falling too. The budget 1070 cards still need to drop £50 or so to be at their "true price".

Well this looks just perfect. Thanks for helping with that! I think I will wait a month or so to see how much the GPU prices fall. Is there anything you recommend I keep an eye out for in the mean time or upgrade if I get a bit more cash?

Well, CPU and mobo are fine. There's a cheaper Gigabyte bundle but the mobo in it doesn't run M.2 SSD's at full speed - which (an M.2 SSD) would be a nice upgrade to use for the Cache etc of the editing programs, in place of one of the Kingston UV400's. Or, if you start off with 2 x Kingston UV400's, you can assign one some of the editing functions if you add an M.2 SSD later. You can make use of several drives that way for better performance so no problem there, i.e. a drive won't go to waste.

While on the subject, you can get Samsung 850 EVO SSD's in place of the Kingston UV400's, with a bit better performance, durability and warranty. Or maybe make one of the SSD's (the OS/programs drive) 480-500GB so you can also put plenty of games on it, instead of on the HDD, for faster load times and a few in-game benefits like faster map teleporting etc, here and there.

Cooler is fine.

Case? Personal choice. That one will hold everything, has top radiator support, and has a PSU shroud to hide the cables, and isn't expensive. Not a lot of drive room though:

Supports up to 2x3.5” HDD and 3x2.5” HDD/SSD.

Still, that equates to 6 drives in total, if you count the M.2 slot. Or even 8 drives, if you use 5.25"-to-3.5" adapters for the two optical bays.

RAM could be upped to 32GB.

That leaves the monitor and GPU. Monitor-wise, maybe you could splash out a bit more for the Dell U2515H. And GPU maybe get one with more warranty and a style that you like, or a brand you are familiar with.

Do you have a headset already? Otherwise that could take up the extra you might be willing to spend.

Ohh nice a lot of helpful info there! It seems like the build is solid enough already but I will definetly look into the Samsungs....actually I will probably also up the SSD GB for faster game speeds/space.
All the other recommendations seem great as well, so I will keep a hold of them ideas for future upgrading.

Thanks!!

You're very welcome.

I forgot about the PSU. There are better quality ones starting at around £10 more. But that one is good quality already. So this would probably be among the last things I'd be looking to improve.
