As per title,

I am after a gaming headset, would like it to have decent sound quality to though.

Thinking of around £70

I have seen the Razer Caracharias get a good review in CPC mag, but wonder what others are recommended? In the OC online reviews plenty seem happy with the Roccat Kave?

Any recommendations? :)

HS1's are silly money for a USB headset. For the £20 extra that they cost over the analogue, you can get a Xonar DG sound card, which will provide much better sound than the little USB thing with the HS1's.

I'd probably pick the Razer's over the Corsair's. Corsair's have had quite a few people complain about the lack of bass. I'm quite surprised how many people gave them 5* reviews TBH. I thought gamers loved their bass. :/

Senn HD555's are great headphones, and worth considering, if you don't mind having a separate microphone. Only if you can get them for about £65 though. At £90, they are overpriced.

Sennheiser PC163D :D great sound quality, crystal clear mic, option of USB with dolby headphone or analog connections and very comfortable.

Or get the less gay looking 333D

IIRC the 333s suffer from the same sound quality issues as the 555 unfortunatly, tho I do like some of the features on them like the mic turning off when you rotate it upwards, also tho it will vary from person to person IMO the 163s are far far more comfortable for prolonged useage.

If your spending more than £30 or so on headphones for gaming I strongly reccomend not going for the likes of creative, corsair, razer, logitech and so on, once you try a decent pair of headphones you will realise just how much you are missing, even if it means having to go for a clip on mic.

Hs1's have slumped in price to about 50.00, but they are great pair of headphones. The HS1a's have droped to like 32.99!!!

For quality gear they don't seem too overpriced to me at the moment.

Have been using the Steelseries 7H for a few months and they're perfect for home use and on lan. :) Definatley recommended.
