So I need a new headset considering my current one is ***** up. I was looking at the Razer Tiamat 7.1 but would have to get a soundcard in order to use it. Is it worth the hassle?

If not what would you guys recommend for quality sound a good mic.

Thanks!

Anything stereo ie Sennheiser 320Game or better. 5.1 is utter utter rubbish.

People with tell you they can hear better positional audio in game...which is strange...as you can't set up speakers with the correct depth and seperation in the size of a headset.

I could go on a big rant and give evidence etc etc...but take it from a sound engineer (who's currently in sales) that stereo is the ONLY way to go for headsets!

ps I am at work so not time.......

Sennheiser 598's + a stand alone mic has suited me pretty well. I went through a few headsets until i was happy with the quality.

The drivers are a little dodgy on the v2000s as windows doesn't recognise them as a 7.1 device resulting in sterio in most games shame as there sound quality is top notch
