Gaming Joystick

go look at my account uzidirtbox..i had the best record in the UK at one time for support class...its not the joystick...its playing games for over 27 years that helps mate,im also a hardcore flightsim addict...my very first being fighter pilot by digital integration from 1983 on the zx spectrum....as for bf2 im retired and waiting for the official bf3 ;)

So what was your point in saying:

I have a CH fighterstick pro with throttle also..i have amassed over 40000 kills on bf2 in a J10 using this stick :-)

Go get your epeen rubbed elsewhere mate

ok lets get back on the topic...in regards to best joystick it is still the CH flighterstick...do your research and you will see;)
i own both of these cause there the best and will basically last you forever as they built to last!

i did my research when buying, only other sticks worth buying is the cougar if you have the extra money to spend on it as its known to have gimball problems...also the microsoft sidewinder(force feedback) is a good stick and very strong all other sticks break down or develop deadzone increase as you use them..dont bother with any of them...if you want a cheap stick go for the logitech wingman...the saitek ones are crap..go buy one and you will see how bad they are..they are not built very well and after a lot of use they develop problems..

i have a microsoft sidewinder first edition which is 11 years old and still works great

The CH website also has the best support out of any stick and if you need any help there are always plenty of expert people to help out with programming the CH flightstick/throttle

oh yeah Dano here is a link for ya mate

^ thanks. What is the difference between the Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro 2 and the non pro version? Also I thought that the older 15pin sticks have problems in WinXP / Vista through a gameport - USB adapter.

edit - Is a precision 2 better than thrustmaster T flight stick X?

yes the old gameports work thorugh an adapter but the force feedback does not...i suggest getting a stick with usb...my point was that they are very strong and last for a long time...

as for the difference between them i think the non pro is the older looking design with gameport...whereas the pro is the newer design with usb

non pro

i dont know which is best out of the microsoft and thrustmaster but i would say microsoft as anything from thrustmaster is ok but not as good as the microsoft sticks...i remember reading long ago that the thrustmasters are ok but not ok if you know what i mean...dont go by what a stick looks like...the saitek look great but a badly designed.....your after a cheap stick..get the logitech wingman...its ok probably for what you want it for

i just read up on the thrustmaster...it seems ok for the price..decent stick...earlier thrustmaster sticks wasnt that good...seems they have improved...up to you mate..either wingman, microsoft or thrustmaster...all decent for the money;)

Does anyone have a driver CD, or know where one is (preferably uploaded ISO) for the Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro 2? Im thinking of getting a precision 2 cheaper but without a cd. thanks thevet, i dont really like the look of the thrustmaster anyway, it looks more like a kiddies plastic toy than a sim controller

There is no doubt that the CH products are the most durable and arguably the best pieces of Flight Sim kit on the market, and the forum at http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php is by far the best support you will ever get, however, you have omitted to advise prospective purchasers that if you use the CH Fighter stick and you have the Pro Throttle, you really need to purchase rudder pedals to fly properly, as there is no rudder twist on the stick.;)

try here dont know if it will work...try running it in windows 98 mode...properties/compatibility

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...f9-6f55-4804-9cf0-f97c5d5f891b&displaylang=en

this one is xp compatible..again try running in properties/compatibility mode for vista if you are using vista

other link to try with various sidewinder drivers
http://software.techrepublic.com.com/abstract.aspx?docid=412653

i suggest you download all the links for your stick and try them all;)

....and you were saying how much of an ace you were! :D You have the best throttle and joystick money can buy and you use keys on the keyboard for a rudder.:D Please go to the site below and tell them that!

When they stop laughing post back here...hint you could be a long time ;););)

i have never used peddles... i dont think i would be any good with them as they do not appeal to me...games like bf2 you dont need a peddle controlled rudder as it is not realistic enough anyhow...that website that you posted...those guys are into ww2 combat planes...they dont interest me..i like fast jets :-)

Has anyone on here had a Sidewinder precision pro USB type? They did the gameport one then a USB one. Just wondered if it actually calibrated correctly, as there are reports of issues using an adapter (USB version of the joystick may have fixed these problems) Im going to get one of these or the newer procision pro 2

And yet you still haven't explained your reasoning, instead you resort to personal attack and insults... lol.

Now go play something thats actually hard to do that in and we'll all be suitably impressed ;)

you started the personal attacks.....dont expect to shout ur gob off and nothing be said to you....i was simply explaining how good the CH stick is by the amount of kills i have on bf2 in a jet.....

just because you have a crap saitek controller it does not mean matty should make the same mistake of buying one like you did,,,so i liad down some FACTS about HOTAS configuration

your a jealous idiot...simple :-)

Handbags a dawn! anyway back on topic, ive been offered a wingman extreme 3D for £6inc or a Sidewinder Precision 2 for £16inc. hmmmmm, what would you do. Im edging towards the Sidewinder because it looks and sounds better made, but the Wingman will probably be easier to configure and cause me less hassle.

I hate things that unconfigure themselves half way through use, or have general compatibility issues. (like my ipod, a camera i once had and some other things)

they are easy to configure mate...its all on the screen for you in the control panel, controllers,or something like that.....if it was me i would go for the sidewinder;)
